Loy E. Sneary

Gulf Coast Green Energy

Loy Sneary joined Gulf Coast Green Energy (GCGE) to head up the company in December, 2007. Sneary's background includes: successful businessman, consultant, and rancher with a distinguished history of public service and community involvement at the local, regional and national level. His public service includes five years as a County Judge in South Texas overseeing a $14 million budget and 250 employees. As a trial Judge, Sneary presided over County Court, which included Criminal and Juvenile offenses, as well as civil and probate matters.

As Emergency Management Director for his county, which is home to South Texas Nuclear Operating Facility and several Petro-Chemical plants, Sneary's team building skills were recognized by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as the first in the nation to achieve a perfect exercise score. The Emergency Management team that he developed and led is frequently observed by key Emergency Management professionals, and has become a model for EM teams across Texas and the nation.

He has held a Cabinet level foreign trade policy advisory position. At the urging of friends and supporters, he has twice run for the U.S. Congress, which allowed him to build a network of community, government, and industry leaders from Texas to Washington D.C.

He has started several successful businesses and has provided business consulting to a wide array of businesses.

Loy has spent much of his career at the intersection of industry and government, promoting economic development and improving the dialogue between community groups, business organizations, and government. His networking skills brought federal, state, and local governments together with South Texas Agri-Businesses to create a new industry. This project will funnel $600 million new dollars a year into the state's economy.

Loy is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and served his country as a United States Naval Officer for six years.
