Tim Smith joined Element Markets, LLC in November 2005 as VP of Renewable Energy Products, providing advisory and asset management services for renewable electricity developers and utilities.  Previously, Tim spent over 5 years with Green Mountain Energy and, among his other duties, purchased over 25 million green tags. 

Tim’s other experience in the electricity industry include:  trading; origination, managing an operations group, risk management, account management; and electrical engineering in electric generating stations.  Tim’s other prior employers have included BP, Columbia Energy, and NIPSCO.  Altogether, Tim has over 16 years of experience in the electricity industry.

Tim graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and he earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing from Indiana University, graduating with high honors.  He is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree and is at the tail end of his last year at Concord Law School, where he has earned Dean’s List honors in each of his first three years.
