Shane McGee is co-chair of SNR Denton’s Internet and Data Protection practice. Located in the Washington, D.C. office, Mr. McGee advises clients on all aspects of creating and maintaining virtual worlds; drafts customer contracts such as EULAs and Terms of Services; helps his clients establish subpoena compliance programs; and investigates and litigates against individuals and companies that infringe his clients' rights. Mr. McGee has been involved in several high-profile litigations, including Davidson & Associates vs. Jung (bnetd), Blizzard vs. In Game Dollar LLC (Peons4hire) and, most recently, MDY vs. Blizzard (WowGlider).  

 

In addition to his work for companies in the entertainment software industry, Mr. McGee also advises clients in the health care, financial and other industries on internet privacy, information security and electronic discovery issues, and counsels clients regarding the risks of doing business on the internet. 

 

Mr. McGee also manages SNR Denton’s investigations, computer forensics and electronic discovery (ICE) lab, utilizing that resource to conduct internal and external investigations and to help his clients respond to discovery requests and subpoenas requesting electronic information.  Mr. McGee -- a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) -- has a strong background in computers and the Internet, including working as a programmer, consultant and instructor. Mr. McGee was admitted to the Bars in Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., and remains active in both Virginia and D.C.
