IFC Schedule

Fall Recruitment: for Upperclass Men only

This recruitment process in the Fall semester is for upperclass men only (those that have passed and completed at least 12 college credit hours at SMU in a long semester (i.e. Fall or Spring))

Fall Semester Chapters participating in Fall recruitment will host various events throughout the semester.

Spring Formal Recruitment: for all First Year Men & Upperclass Men

ATTENTION - In order to be eligible to receive a bid of membership during the formal recruitment process, Potential New Members MUST attend all Mandatory meetings during the fall semester and all events the week of recruitment and submit their punch card entirely completed.. There are no exceptions to this policy.

A tradition with IFC recruitment at SMU, all potential new members will participate in a meaningful service project with active chapter members. Buses will load from the Boulevard at 9am.

 Dinner 5pm

Potential New Members can visit any of the 10 IFC fraternities

HAZE Video 11am
Potential New Members will watch a powerful video covering hazing, alcohol abuse and risk management.

"Frat Fair & BBQ" 12pm
Potential New Members and active fraternity men can visit a designated location and purchase various clothing items and accessories from a list of vendors. Potential new members will also be treated to a BBQ dinner.

Guest Speaker1:30pm-3:30pm

Formal Round III 4pm-6pm
Potential New Members are afforded the opportunity to visit chapters that have invited them back.

 

Saturday
January 14, 2012

Bid Night 7pm
Tonight you will meet your new brothers in a traditional run from the Dedman Rec. Center to your house!

Alcohol or other drug use:

Any report of alcohol use by you at any point between arriving back to campus to the end of the recruitment process WILL RESULT in removal from the recruitment process and ineligibility for the spring 2012 semester.

You will sign an agreement to this affect on the first day of recruitment or you will not be allowed to participate. There are no exceptions to this rule. There are no appeals to this rule. Students have violated this agreement in the past and been disqualified from joining a fraternity that semester.
