IFC Recommendations
What are Recommendations?
Recommendations are letters written by fraternity alumni supporting a potential new member going through IFC Fraternity Recruitment. Recommendations are not required to join a fraternity. If you want to let a fraternity know that you are a legacy (related to a member/alumnus of a fraternity), indicate that on your registration form. Recommendations do not increase or decrease your chances of joining a fraternity.
It is the chapter's responsibility to secure a recommendation for each man who decides to go through recruitment if needed. If you would like to secure your own, please send all recommendations or letter directly to the chapter houses.
Any and all recommendations sent to The SMU Interfraternity Council will be discarded and not forwarded. The SMU Interfraternity Council cannot help you secure recommendations or check to see if a chapter has received a recommendation for you.
