A helping hand: Access.SMU team offers troubleshooting tips
SMU has successfully completed its conversion to Web-based student
administration, human resources, and contributor relations software.
As of June 23 Access.SMU
is fully functional and ready for use. Here are some frequent faculty/staff
questions since the upgrade and answers from the project team:
Having log-in problems?
Remember, with the recent Access.SMU upgrade, the log-in procedure
has changed. Your username is now your eight-digit SMU ID number
(without the dash) and your password is your SMU domain password
-- the same one you use to access your PPP and webmail.smu.edu accounts.
To test or reset your password, visit the ITS
password Web site. If you have problems, call 8-HELP.
Have questions about running a class roster or entering
grades?
Orientation sessions for faculty and staff will be held later this
summer. The two-hour labs are scheduled for 10 a.m. July 25, 11
a.m. July 31, and 10 a.m. August 1 and 18 in room 227, the Crow
Building. In the meantime, use the quick tutorial Access.SMU
Instructions for Faculty, e-mail the Administrative
Systems Training Team, or call 8-1824.
Want to know what students can see and do in Access.SMU?
Attend one of the 50-minute Access.SMU information sessions. Held
in room 277 of the Maguire Building, sessions introduce faculty
and staff to changes in the system, focusing on:
- enrollment
- optional services/fees
- grade retrieval
- address changes
No registration is necessary to attend. Classes are scheduled for
1:30 p.m. August 18, 10 a.m. August 19, 11 a.m. August 20, and 1:30
p.m. August 21.
Have any other questions or concerns? E-mail the
project
team.
