TEG - Tuition Equalization Grant

ACG - Academic Competitiveness Grant

Awards

• Amount varies, 2007 - 2008: First -year students with 0 to 24 hours - up to $750 and Sophomores with 25 to 48 hours - up to $1300.

Eligibility

• Determined to be Pell Eligible by the U.S. Department of Education based on an analysis of student’s completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) given only to the most needy students
• Completed a rigorous secondary school curriculum and defined by the U.S. Department of Education
• First year full time students, Freshmen, and Sophomores who have completed the secondary school curriculum after January 1of the prior year of enrollment
• Maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA

SMART - Federal National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant

Awards

• Amount varies: up to $4,000 per calendar year

Eligibility

• Determined to be Pell eligible by the U.S. Department of Education based on an analysis of the student’s completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) given only to the most needy students
• Must be a Junior or Senior enrolled full time with a declared major of: Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Technology and certain Foreign Languages.
  
• Maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA

FSEOG - Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

• Up to $4000; number varies depending on allocation to SMU
