Bernanke - Old Greenspan in New Bottle?

Ravi Batra | Alan Greenspan critic
Ravi Batra — who coined the word
“Greenomics” — is turning his sights to
the Fed chair’s successor: Ben Bernanke.
SMU economist Batra is the author of
Greenspan’s Fraud: How Two Decades of His
Policies Have Undermined the Global
Economy .
Bernanke has many qualities that Batra
thought Greenspan lacked, such as an
academic background and solid credentials
as a researcher. So how does this gadfly
economist see the new Fed chair?
“Ben Bernanke
is more or less old Greenspan’s wine in a
new bottle,” says Batra the author of six
international bestsellers, two of which
were New York Times bestsellers,
including The Great Depression of 1990. “Like
Greenspan, Bernanke is anti-labor and pro
business; so we will continue to see the
paradox of a dwindling American living
standard in a growing economy.”
Batra is best
known for his forecasts based on examining
historical cycles. Other angles Batra can
discuss:
- Bernanke’s biggest challenge
- Greenspan’s legacy
- The Global economy
