VIPs - Very Important Ponies

Some of our VIPs this month are:

Thank you to all of the staff that participated in the Pumpkin Pals and the Halloween Costume Contest.  Congratulations to the winners.  Kelly McMillan we appreciate your enthusiasm and the yummy food.  It was a really fun week for everyone.

Mark Gomez - Mark is great.  He makes visiting Financial Aid look less like a chore.

Epi Ramirez - is GREAT!

Kelly McMillan - She's super!  On the spot is sooo much better than 48 hours.  Kelly is super nice and helpful, too.  She make coming to Perkins actually fun! - Kelly McMillan is so creative and innovative in "Team DES."  She also gives the best customer service ever.

James Swenson - Great Job!

June Hagler - Thank you for your help and patience as I learn.  I appreciate your willingness to check my work and give me feedback.

Lillie Rose - was knee deep in processing transcript requests when a student came in and had a deadline to meet.  His scholarship program said they did not get the transcript he mailed and he had a form he had to fax to them immediately if he was to be awarded the scholarship.  Lillie stopped what she was doing and prepared the form.  She also offered to fax the form for the student.  Then she wowed me!  She called the scholarship program and asked them if they had still not received the transcript.  They actually found it while on the phone with her.  So, the form was not needed and a very stressed student became a very happy student thanks to Lillie!!!

                            Holiday in Enrollment Services

'Tis the season to share with those in need. This year the Division of Enrollment Services will again organize our efforts to share with others in the community who may have needs at this time of year.  We will work with Dallas Life Foundation that provides services for the needy and homeless in the Dallas area.

Staff who wish to participate may give either non-perishable food items or gently used clothing.  We will collect items December 4, 5, and 6th.  Kelly and Christina have volunteered to take our things but might appreciate some help.

Learn more about the Dallas Life Foundations by clicking on their website www.dallaslife.org.

Bake Sale for Dallas Life Foundation
Bakers and Buyers Needed!
Don't need to fire up the oven to get those goodies ready for Thanksgiving.  Enrollment Services will provide!
Bakers bring your yummy cakes, pies, cookies, salsa (really anything you want) to the DES Conference Room - Tuesday, November 26 between 9:30am and 10am.  Buyers bring your money from 10am to 12noon (or until we sell out!)
Proceeds will be donated to the Dallas Life Foundation.

  Holiday Luncheon
Monday, December 9 12noon to 2pm
Hughes-Trigg Ballroom
Please mark your calendar to join your co-workers for our annual Holiday Luncheon.  Again this year, Dr. Tunks will provide the turkey, dressing, and beverages -- we will provide the rest.

Sign Up sheets will go up after Thanksgiving for veggies, desserts, bread, other side dishes, table decorations, and entertainment.  So be thinking what you want to bring.

Also, we will be having a White Elephant Gift exchange.  Look around your house to find that "collectable" that you wouldn't mind handing off to someone else.  Your White Elephant Gift should fit in a lunch sized paper bag.  You will drop off your unwrapped gift when you come to the luncheon.  Paper bags will provided in the Ballroom.
