| Marjorie Swann's research focuses on seventeenth-century English literature and culture. She is particularly interested in how literature is related to material culture, gender and sexuality, and environmental history. She has received fellowships and grants from the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association, the Museum Loan Network, and the Huntington Library. She is currently writing a book about Izaak Walton’s famous fishing treatise, The Compleat Angler, and its post-seventeenth-century afterlives, as well as editing a new edition of The Compleat Angler for the Oxford World’s Classics series published by Oxford University Press. |
