The Criteria Award for Distinction

The editors of Criteria consider for publication all outstanding written work submitted by First-Year Writing faculty from student writers in their classes. Student writers whose exceptional contributions merit distinction will be selected each year for the Criteria Award.

Recipients of the Criteria Award for 2008-2009 are Brian Bertrand, Emily Habeck, and Lacey Lee.

The Laura Kesselman Devlin Award

The Devlin Award commemorates Laura Devlin, A First-Year Writing teacher distinguished for academic rigor, intellectual adventure, and human concern. This award for continuing excellence is presented annually to a full-time faculty member whose major teaching responsibility is in First-Year Writing.

The Devlin Lecturer for 2010-2011 is Ona Seaney.
