The Master Technology Teacher (MTT) program was developed in response to an increasing demand for teachers skilled in using technology to facilitate teaching, assessment, research, and professional development. The curriculum comprises four three-credit-hour graduate courses. Successful graduates of the MTT program are prepared to take the Master Technology Teacher TExMaT (Texas Examinations for Master Teachers); those who pass the exam earn the MTT certification.
The four required courses (12 credit hours) are designed to meet Texas Education Agency standards and competencies for the Master Technology Teacher certificate. Click on their course titles below to link to their course descriptions.

The courses are delivered through a combination of traditional and technology-facilitated platforms. Much of the coursework is taught online (using Blackboard as the online delivery mechanism). Typical activities include reading, lectures (limited), research, hands-on practice (considerable), classroom and online discussions, and case studies. Instructional technology tools facilitate active student learning throughout the coursework; examples include online discussions, Weblog, concept-mapping, brain-storming, peer reviews, and group projects.
Basic technology skills are necessary to succeed in the coursework; students should be able to use word-processing software, receive and deliver email, and navigate the Internet. Each course must be completed with a minimum grade of "B."
