Mathematician's Workshop Videoconference Series

If you are a Middle School math teacher, please join us for an exciting opportunity to learn from experts in the field of mathematics. In partnership with the University of Oregon, SMU is offering a Mathematics Videoconference Series during the spring semester of 2009.  The five 2-day sessions are intended to expand and enhance teachers' content knowledge for teaching pre-algebra and beyond. Each 2-day session is held over a consecutive Friday and Saturday.  The Friday classes meet from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (CST); the Saturday classes meet from 11:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. All of the interactive videoconference sessions are held at SMU but transmitted from the University of Oregon. Teachers may elect to participate in the workshops series for graduate credit (2 college credits) or for noncredit (CEUs).

This opportunity is sponsored by project DATA (Designing Algebra Teaching for Achievement), with support from the University of Oregon's College of Education, Center on Teaching and Learning, Behavioral Research & Teaching, and Department of Educational Leadership.
