Supplemental Certification in Bilingual Education Program (SCB): Application Procedures

Please submit:

2. An official transcript from the school that awarded your baccalaureate degree; the transcript must show both your degree status (i.e., bachelor's completed) and the overall GPA. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission.  Transcripts from countries outside the USA must be accompanied by an official evaluation of the transcript by a recognized U.S. evaluation agency.
   

3. Letter of recommendation.
   

4. A $75 non-refundable application fee payable to SMU.

In addition, applicants must:

1. Complete an interview with the program director.

2. Complete a Spanish proficiency assessment.

Tuition

Graduate bilingual education students are able to take advantage of SMU's reduced tuition rate for educators, which is $411 per credit hour for the 2008-2009 AY. Applicants are encouraged to seek sponsorships from their school districts. Campus parking requires a special permit, for which an additional fee is charged.
