Dara Williams-Rossi, Ph.D., joined the faculty of SMU in 2010. She earned
her Ph.D. from University of North Texas, Denton, Texas, with a major in
Curriculum and Instruction and a minor in Educational Administration. Prior
to coming to SMU, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses at the
University of North Texas in secondary education and worked as a research
assistant for the National Staff Development Council.
She is an experienced educator with a strong science background,
including K-12 curriculum development and administration. She teaches in the
undergraduate and graduate Teacher Education and Master Science Teacher
Programs.
Her research agenda includes the study of instructional methods employed
by K-12 science educators and identifying best practices in undergraduate
science education classrooms. Additional research interests include the
study of professional development that supports student achievement linked
to teacher improvement and continual learning.
