Laurie O. Campbell, Ed.D.
Lecturer & Director of Undergraduate Programs

    Laurie O. Campbell is a lecturer for the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University. Her background in education has been as a teacher and academic administrator. After teaching for 10 years in various grades in K-12 education, she moved into school administration. While in this capacity, she initiated and developed a program for students with learning differences, led initiatives for writing improvement, and directed a critical thinking infusion project. She has worked as a chairperson at the county and state level for the improvement of education through accreditation. She has led statewide workshops on Technology in the Classroom, Best Classroom Practices, Professional Development, and Critical Thinking.

    During the last nine years, she has taught as an adjunct instructor at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. Her research interest areas include Novakian concept mapping, and critical thinking.
