Lorraine “Lori” Dumerer currently teaches AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP Macroeconomics, AP US History, and regular economics at RL Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas. She earned her B.A. in history and MA in social studies and education at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and an advanced certification from Southern Methodist University in Gifted and Talented Education. She has served as an AP Government reader for eight years and is a national presenter for the College Board’s Pre-AP: Advanced Topics for AP Vertical Teams in Social Studies-Developing Reading Habits. Her experiences include presentation of selected topics for AP Government and Pre-AP US History at numerous national AP Conferences. Her accolades include the Texas Council of the Social Studies Teacher of the Year Award for 2002, Peters Colony CSS award for 2001, and the Dallas Council for the SS award for 1996. She is an NEH fellow, Mellon fellow and State Department scholar.
