IMSLEC Innovator Award

Karen Vickery, Director of the Learning Therapy Program at SMU, will receive an International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) Innovator Award as an Outstanding Educator in a University at the annual meeting of the IMSLEC in Seattle on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.

IMSLEC is a private non-profit council of accredited training courses that provide instruction in codebased multisensory language teaching techniques for educators, teachers and academic therapists. Each year, beginning in 2003, IMSLEC Innovator Awards are given in the following categories:

• Outstanding Educator in a University

• Outstanding School Administrator

• Outstanding MSLE Therapist

• Outstanding MSLE Teacher

• Outstanding MSLE Professional
