Enrich Your Classroom Teaching with a
   Master of Liberal Studies Degree

 

Design your own graduate degree without the constraints of multiple requirements.  The Master of Liberal Studies degree, now offering courses at SMU-in-Plano, allows you the freedom to chart your own course and explore those areas you are truly passionate about.  This program will enrich you and your classroom teaching with the excitement of interdisciplinary learning.

Study provocative social, political, and religious issuesall in a classroom with adults who, like you, want to broaden their knowledge through part-time, evening study.   And equally compelling, you'll study with some of SMU's finest faculty members.

Cost:  The program offers a reduced tuition rate and special scholarships for Dallas area teachers!

Master of Liberal Studies:  The Curriculum

  • Completion of at least 13 graduate courses, only two of which are prescribed.
  • Areas of specialized concentration including: Gender Studies, Peace & Social Justice, Global Studies, Humanities, Arts and Cultural Traditions, or Self Designed.
  • Opportunities for study abroad travel experiences for credit.
  • All courses offered in the evening to accommodate working schedules.
