CFP at SMU

Millions of people turn to financial planners to guide them to their financial goals.
Do you have what it takes to get them there?

The SMU Program is the only Board-registered, classroom-based program in Dallas or Plano.

SMU students averaged 24% higher scores on the July 2008 CFP® Certification Examination than the national average.

"I passed!! I felt prepared going into the exam... I have no doubt your tax class and review class were the difference maker. You have a gift as a teacher and were very good at teaching both the material and helping prepare for the exam. I feel extremely fortunate to have had you as an instructor. Thank you very much."
—Dan O'Connell

Only 3% of Financial Planners are Certified
“Now, hands down, the Certified Financial Planner™ certification is the preferred designation. Only three percent of financial planners are Certified Financial Planner™ professionals. It’s no guarantee, but they’ve crossed a threshold 97 percent haven’t.”
—John Austin, Boston Herald, October 21, 2008
