Linda Pledger, Ph.D.

Dr. Linda Pledger is a professor emeritus from the Speech Communication department at UALR, having directed the Master’s program in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication for twelve years. She consults in the areas of transformational leadership development, generational diversity,  interpersonal and gender communication, family communication, and emotional intelligence, among others. She was awarded the 2005 Virginia and Ted Bailey Excellence in Teaching award, given to one UALR professor each year selected by a national panel for outstanding teaching. She was instrumental in developing a communication across the curriculum program at UALR to enhance teaching methods in all departments of the university.  She has consulted with dozens of local, state and national organizations in the areas of organizational and interpersonal communication. She lives in North Little Rock with her husband. Both her two children and their spouses are professors/teachers, carrying on the family tradition.
