Adults
who are interested in earning college credit but do not wish to pursue a degree
may register through SMU's Office of Nondegree Credit Studies which provides
convenient access to day and evening credit courses in a variety of academic
disciplines, professional areas of study, and teacher certification and endorsement
programs.
Nondegree credit students are eligible to take University credit courses provided all prerequisites are satisfied. Students may take from one to three courses per semester but must maintain a cumulative grade average of C or better in order to continue their credit studies at SMU.
A comprehensive schedule of evening classes is available in the Nondegree Credit Studies Office for the convenience of working adults.
With instructor approval and available classroom space, adults may audit credit courses for a fraction of the cost of credit study. The University, however, neither awards college credit for auditing nor maintains a record of audited courses.
