The SMU Certificate Program in Financial Planning utilizes two publishers for course texts: The American College, and Kaplan Schweser. Each SMU course requires a textbook from American College with Fundamentals and Capstone requiring a corresponding supplement from the 7-volume Kaplan Schweser review series.
Required books for each SMU course are noted in the chart below. Call publishers directly to purchase textbooks.
ALL TEXTS ARE AVAILABLE SOLELY FROM THE PUBLISHERS. Courses are based on the most recent textbook editions offered by the publishers. Avoid holding obsolete textbooks by purchasing only the most recent textbook edition as needed for your current course. Please keep this in mind when purchasing packaged or bundled sets.
Books are not available at the SMU Bookstore.
To ensure delivery of texts before classes begin, SMU students are strongly encouraged to order their textbooks a minimum of 7 business days in advance of the start of each course.
