Sherrie R. Abney, J.D. a collaborative lawyer, mediator, arbitrator and collaborative trainer. She was the first chair of the Dallas Bar Association Collaborative Law Section and is past chair of the ADR Section of the Dallas Bar.  As a founding director of the Texas Collaborative Law Council, she has served as Vice President of Education and Training for that organization since 2004.  Sherrie is a member and presenter for the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and has presented at dispute resolution conferences in Cork, Ireland and Oxford University as well as a number of conferences in the states and Canada.  She has trained professionals in the collaborative process both nationally and internationally. Her next training is scheduled in Sydney, Australia in conjunction with the Australian International Collaborative Conference to be held in March of 2009. Currently, Sherrie serves on the ADR Council of the State Bar of Texas and the Collaborative Law Committee of the DR Section of the ABA.  She is the author of Avoiding Litigation, A Guide to Civil Collaborative Law.

Hal Barkley, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT is currently the Director of the graduate level Counseling Program at SMU (Plano).  Dr. Barkley has been a resident of Carrollton and employed by Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD for 35 years.  He has also maintained a limited private practice for the past twenty-six years and taught as an adjunct professor at SMU for six years.  Dr. Barkley received hi Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of North Texas and his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University.  He is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and is a Certified Sex Therapist with the American Association of Sex Educations, Counselors, and Therapists.

Teresa Irene Castleman, MA, LPC, IAAP is a Jungian analyst in private practice in Dallas, Texas and a training analyst for the Jung Institute of Dallas.  She also serves as Training Analyst and Board Member of the C. G. Jung Institute of Zurich. Ms. Castleman is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Diplomate Jungian Analyst, and a Licensed Professional Counseling Supervisor. She currently serves as Director of Training and past President for the C. G. Jung Institute of Dallas.  Ms. Castleman is a member of C. G. Jung Institute of Zurich, C. G. Jung Institute of Dallas, the International Association of Analytical Psychology, the American Association of Group Psychotherapy, the C. G. Jung Society of North Texas, and the American Association of Counselors.

Sarah Feuerbacher, Ph.D., LCSW earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Social Work and a Doctorate degree in Educational Psychology from Baylor University.  She is currently employed as the Clinical Director at Collin Intervention to Youth-CITY House in Plano, TX and provides supervision to 40 employees and the clinical and residential programs for a Family Counseling Center, Transitional Living Program, Teen Shelter, and My Friend’s House Children’s Shelter.  In addition, she serves on the faculty of Psychology in Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas.  She is a Practical Parent Education Certified Parent Educator and has also taught in multiple positions of academia, including university, community college, secondary, and elementary educational levels.  Her previous social service experience has allowed her to work as a domestic violence battering program intake specialist and counselor; family preservation program therapist; school case manager; and, residential care facility case worker.  Dr. Feuerbacher has participated in many program development and evaluation opportunities, has been awarded multiple grant designations, and is a member of a variety of professional associations.  She has completed extensive quantitative and qualitative research studies, presentations, and publications in the area of holistic approaches to working with at-risk, multicultural youth and their intrapersonal and environmental systems.  Her current research and public outreach focuses on multifaceted themes of family abuse.

Robert Good, LPC has received a M.A. and Th.M. from the Dallas Theological Seminary and did post-graduate work in Counselor Education at the University of south Florida.  He is a co-founder of  Stonebriar Counseling Associates with offices in Frisco and Plano, Texas where he is a licensed professional counselor and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist.  A counselor and seminar speaker, Mr. Good has written extensively; topics include Counseling Intervention with Couples, Relationship Networking in the Business World, Estate Planning, and Financial Planning for the Family.

Thomas L. Hartsell, Jr., J.D. is an attorney/mediator and a fulltime faculty member at Southern Methodist University teaching courses in the graduate Counseling and Conflict Resolution Programs.  He has extensive experience representing mental health professionals in connection with licensing board complaints.

Jodi Hassler, LPC, RPT, CCH has been a psychotherapist for 12 years in Dallas, Texas.  Before she began practicing psychotherapy in 1993, she was an elementary school teacher.  As a psychotherapist, she has worked extensively with individuals, couples and families.  One of her specialties is working with children as a Registered Play Therapist.  Jodi is a member of the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Play Therapists.  She is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.

Garry L. Landreth, LPC, RPT-S,  is internationally known for his writings and work in promoting the development of child-centered play therapy and is a Regents Professor in the Department of Counseling at the University of North Texas.  He is the founder of the Center for Play Therapy, the largest play therapy training program in the country.  Dr. Landreth is a frequent speaker at play therapy conferences around the world.  His more than 150 journal articles, books and videos include his award-winning book Play Therapy: The Art of the Relationship, which has been translated into five international languages.  His latest books are Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT): A 10-Session Filial Therapy Model and an accompanying Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) Treatment Manual.  Dr. Landreth is Director Emeritus of the Association for Play Therapy (APT) and received the APT Lifetime Achievement Award and  Research in Play Therapy Award.

Gay Thomas McAlister, Ph.D., LPC, RED is currently Associate Director of Supervision of the graduate level Counseling Program at SMU (Plano), serving as practicum supervisor.  Dr. McAlister received her B.S. in Elementary and Special Education and M.ED. Supervision from Lamar University and her Ph.D. in Family Studies from Texas Woman's University.  Dr. McAlister also holds certifications in Elementary and Special Education, all levels, Supervision, Educational Diagnostician and Driver Education.

Linda L. McCarley, LCSW, ATR-BC, RPT-S is a founder/director of the Art Therapy Institute, a past president of the North Texas Art Therapy Association and serves on the Educational Program Approval Board of the American Art Therapy Association, which has about 4,000 members.

Janell Myers, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT has been a mental health practitioner for over 20 years.  She holds a Masters in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Counseling and Addiction Studies.  She has served as an Adjunct Professor of Counseling, Psychology, and Human Development at Amberton University, and in Counseling and the School of Addiction Studies at the University of North Texas.  Dr. Myers was the director of several mental health and chemical dependency in-patient, out-patient, and residential treatment programs before starting private practice with offices in Plano and Lake Highlands, specializing in family therapy, difficult adolescents, and all addictive disorders.  She is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Master Addiction Counselor, and a state-approved supervisor for LPCs and LMFTs.  Her interests are angry adolescents and families affected by addictions.  Dr. Myers has been a trainer and speaker at local, national and international conferences.  She has a passion for sharing her expertise with those working the in the mental health and addictions fields.

Beau A. Nelson, MA, LCSW is President of Behavioral Health Consulting Solutions, a consulting business specializing in working with mental health professionals to manage and market their practice.  He has worked for private behavioral health businesses as a clinician and in marketing and business development.  More on his consulting activities is available at selfpaypractice.com.  Mr. Nelson has a private practice specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in North Dallas.  He is trained as a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapist and provides individual, couples, and group counseling.  More information about his practice is available at improveyourmood.com.  In addition to consulting and counseling, he also teaches at local universities, lectures for a variety of professional and other organizations, and offers supervision to students deepening their practice of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

Kim Rockwell-Evans, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT has 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist for children, adolescents, adults, and groups.  She currently has a private practice specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders.

Misty Solt, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S, NCC is currently the Clinic Director of the Center for Family Counseling at SMU (Plano).  Dr. Solt is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, and National Certified Counselor.  Dr. Solt received her Doctorate at the University of North Texas and her Master’s at Eastern Illinois University.  Dr. Solt has been working in the field of Counseling since 1998 as a counselor in the following areas: school crisis counseling, in-home counseling, agency counseling, and private practice.   Dr. Solt was the Assistant Director of the Center for Play Therapy in Denton, TX for three years.  Dr. Solt has served as an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Counseling at both Southern Methodist University and the University of North Texas.  Dr. Solt is published in the area of counseling and has a private practice in Frisco, TX.

Ron Stone, Ph.D., LPC is a mental health professional with a long history of conducting social studies and other evaluative and counseling services for courts and families involved in legal proceedings.  Dr. Stone is also an active mediator and serves on the Adjunct Faculty for Southern Methodist University’s counseling program.

Tony Picchioni, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT is the Chair of the Conflict Resolution and Counseling Programs at SMU (Plano).  Dr. Picchioni received his Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of North Texas.  He has also done extensive post-graduate work in Dispute Resolution at The Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, Pepperdine Law School and CDR Associates in Boulder, Colorado.

Nishendu Vasavada, M.D. is a licensed psychiatrist in private practice located in Lewisville, Texas.  Dr. Vasavada serves on the adjunct faculty of Southern Methodist University teaching classes in the graduate counseling program.
