GROUP COUNSELING

The Center's Group Counseling services include parent education groups (e.g., Filial Therapy, Positive Discipline), teen groups, activity groups (i.e., for children between the ages of 9-12), and play therapy groups (i.e., for children ages 3-8) for varied concerns and topics.

The SMU Center for Family Counseling is starting some new therapy groups available for the community:

1) Stress management group (where participants learn techniques to work on managing stress more effectively.)

2) Anger Management group (where participants learn techniques to manage anger issues.)

3) Filial Therapy (where participants learn parenting skills)

If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please call 972-473-3456 for more information.
