| The Applied Physiology specialization includes core coursework in research
design and statistics as well as area-specific study tailored in accordance with
the research interests of the student and expertise of the advisor. Students
interested in the program are strongly encouraged to establish their research
interests and program goals with either Dr. Scott Davis or Dr. Peter Weyand
before submitting an application. The primary program requirement is successful
completion of a journal style dissertation that includes a minimum of three
manuscripts that have been accepted and/or submitted for publication. Prior to
successful completion of a dissertation, students must pass written and oral
