eCenter Staff Biography

Pennington Ingley

Pennington Ingley is the Director of Collaborative Systems for the Hart eCenter at SMU. Realizing at an early age that his career would be centered on Information Technology, Pennington sought to broaden his horizons by taking a degree from SMU in Art History emphasizing medieval studies and English literature. He also is working towards a Master’s in English. He briefly studied Art in Italy and Literature at Oxford.

His early career was spent as a consultant working in IT infrastructure, web design and graphic design. Pennington was Manager of Web development for MobileStar Network Corporation, a telecommunications start-up which provides public wireless, broadband Internet connections in airports, hotels, convention centers and coffee shops. He initiated a successful re-branding campaign, helping standardize a consistent brand image across the company’s website and collateral material.

Pennington left MobileStar to become Director of Information Services at Fuegotech, Inc., an international software company with office in Dallas, Buenos Aries, Mexico City and Saõ Paulo. Fuegotech provides next-generation middleware for seamless Business Orchestration. He was responsible for tying together Linux, Sun, and Microsoft environments over secure connections internationally. He also was responsible for IT standardization and implementation of IT guidelines across the company.

He has also served as Art Director for the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, a non-profit association dedicated to promoting world-wide electrical safety, where he was responsible for a bi-monthly magazine, multimedia design and publication as well brand conceptualization and implementation.
