Technology Forum Examines

Opportunities in a Global Digital Economy

DALLAS, Texas (SMU) -- Three area leaders in technology education are joining forces to present a half-day forum designed to provide insights into the key business and technology trends, challenges and opportunities of the global digital economy. On Thursday, May 23, 2002, Texas eComm, the Linda and Mitch Hart eCenter and SMU's Cox School of Business will host Global Trends in the Digital Economy at the Four Seasons Resort & Club, Dallas at Las Colinas.

The morning's activities will kick off with breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by a keynote address by Admiral Bobby Inman, managing director, Gefinor Ventures, and a member of the Board of Directors of SBC Communications. The forum will then break into two panels: one focused on transportation and logistics and another addressing telecommunications. Each panel will be led by an industry expert, including Gary Donahee, president, The Americas, Nortel Networks; Ray Greer, executive vice president of i2 Technologies; and Terry Jones, president and CEO, Travelocity.com.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time for panelists to address during their panel discussions, as well as to participate in the discussions. "Question & Answer" sessions will follow each panel discussion. By participating in the half-day forum, attendees will gain insight into the digital economy and learn how to leverage technologies and take advantage of business opportunities within this new global marketplace. The forum will conclude after lunch.
This forum is generously supported by Compaq Computer, EDS, Ernst & Young, i2 Technologies, PricewaterhouseCoopers, BusinessWeek and the North Texas Commission.
