eCenter People act as judges for the KPMG 2001 High Technology Awards.

eCenter faculty affiliate, Dr. Amit Basu, and eCenter Director, Dr. Peter Raad were selected by KPMG to participate as judges their annual High Technology Awards. Amit Basu  is Wyly Professor of Information Systems, Information Technology and Operations Management at SMU’s Edwin L. Cox School of Business. He focuses on computer based information systems, electronic commerce, knowledge management and technology and innovation management. He is a frequently published author on workflow and data management. Peter Raad is the Linda Wertheimer Hart Director of the Linda and Mitch Hart eCenter at SMU. He previously served as the associate dean of the SMU school of engineering. He has published numerous journal articles, participated as a speaker for more the 70 conferences and received more than $2 million in funding and support. His current research interests are in adaptive thermal modeling and laser-based measurements of submicron electronic devices, and tsunami mitigation and fluid wave interactions with solid structures.  Among the winners of the awards was Jack Kilby, holder of an honorary Doctorate of Science from SMU and longtime associate of SMU through the Kilby Foundation. Kilby was honored as a “Legend in Technology” for his invention of the chip or monolithic integrated circuit in 1958.
