Hart eCenter SMU

eCenter People interviewed for article in the Dallas Business Journal.

Writer Stephanie Patrick interviewed Director Peter Raad and eCenter board member John Ryan for the Dallas Business Journal at his office in the Hart eCenter. She quoted Dr. Raad as saying, “There are technology centers that have been started at different universities such as Carnegie-Mellon and Duke and other places but they’ve been either in the business school or the engineering school. That have focused specifically on either e-commerce or e-business or have been technology specific.” Patrick’s article points out that “SMU’s program aims to broaden the scope by also considering philosophical, ethical and workplace issues.” John Ryan, president and CEO of Plano’s ARM Technologies, told Patrice he considered the center an exercise in “thought leadership.” Ryan was also quoted saying, “I hope it will stimulate a wave of ideas… There are tremendous opportunities with the Internet, and we should see a number of applications come out of this.” Patrick’s article “Center considers better uses of technology” appeared in the October 19-25, 2001 issue.
