Advocacy
The
Institute serves as an advocate for all individuals to become full
contributing members of the engineering profession. To meet this
end, IDEAS develops conferences, seminars, publications and other
vehicles that promote an awareness of diversity and how it can be
used as an instrument for change. Advocacy activities of the Institute
include:
|
|
- Establishing
partnerships with professional, civic and cultural organizations
- Organizing
roundtable forums, symposia and speaker series
-
Developing
a database of diversity information and resource individuals/organizations
-
Presenting
forums for nationally distinguished authorities to discuss
diversity issues in engineering and society
-
Supporting
students pursuing careers in engineering and science
