international studies

To be a player in our increasingly global society, you need to be well versed in international opportunities and cultures. The International Studies major -- one of SMU's most popular majors -- provides the skills you need in this ever-changing and complex world.

While specializing in a particular geographic region of the world (Asia, Latin America, Europe, or Africa and the Middle East), you will immerse yourself in courses that provide global perspectives in international politics, economics, history, language, and culture. You also can spend one or more terms in a study abroad program to broaden your in-depth knowledge of your selected region.
