The English
faculty draws from distinguished

honored professors. These teachers and mentors challenge you to think beyond

commonplace and to read and write with clarity, insight, and imagination,
with an understanding of complex literary, cultural, and social relations. Beginning in the
fall of 2007, the Department of English will begin a new Ph.D. program.
