Position Information:

Two positions available:  One Advancement Associate reports to the Assistant Dean for Development and External Affairs in The Meadows School of the Arts and the second Advancement Associate position reports to the Director of Development for Central University Libraries.  Both positions provide donor communication, stewardship, financial, administrative and research support for their respective divisions/teams in support of The Second Century Campaign in collaboration with staff in the school/unit and as part of the division of Development and External Affairs.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of one year of work experience is required, preferably providing clerical and administrative support in an office environment to a high-profile manager. Experience that includes some budgeting/accounting is required. Experience drafting letters and other business documents is also required. Experience supporting results-driven team or in a fast-paced team environment preferred. Work experience in a non-profit or University setting is desired. Travel management experience is a plus.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. A strong customer service orientation is essential.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. The ability to disseminate information into precise and effective written communications is essential. 

Candidate must be self-starters with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must also demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently without direct supervision.  Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment are essential. 

Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, spelling and grammar.  The ability to learn new applications quickly is essential.

Database experience with Blackbaud and/or FileMaker Pro preferred.  PowerPoint or other graphic software is a plus.
