Proposal Development

Successful proposal writing requires extensive planning and preparation.  Solid preliminary work will greatly simplify the writing stage.  The first, and arguably most important, rule is to know the foundation’s proposal guidelines and follow them precisely.  The Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations can assist in providing details about a given foundation’s proposal requirements.  Following is a list of proposal tips:

  • Reflect planning, research, and vision.
  • Answer every question.
  • Write with clarity and sophistication.
  • Adopt an attractive, well-organized format.
  • Plan ahead.
