French Cooking And Wine

Join nationally acclaimed chef Chris Maher as he leads a hands-on culinary tour of France. You will learn how different foods from each region relate to one another and how they ultimately influence foods of the new world, Europe and the Americas. Along with technique and theory, you will learn more about flavors, ingredients and recipes from several regions in France and a brief overview of the history and cultures surrounding foods from the region. On Day 1, you will enjoy the Mahers’ home as you prepare food in their professional indoor/outdoor kitchen overlooking the Taos Mountains. You will travel to the fabulous Blackstone Ranch on Day 2 for an in-depth discussion and tasting of wines paired with the foods you will be creating together. No prior experience in the kitchen is necessary. Experienced cooks will learn as much as they desire from working directly with the chef.
