CIP Mission Statement

The Center for Information Processing is a service-oriented unit that actively supports the Central University Libraries’ mission by building collections, organizing information, and providing enhanced access to library materials for students, faculty, and staff of Southern Methodist University.  We provide timely, cost-effective acquisition and processing of library materials, including the provision of quality cataloging that complies with current international standards. We collaborate with colleagues within the library and beyond to evaluate and adopt new technologies, solve problems, and provide state-of-the-art services.  We encourage open communication and good working relationships in a dynamic team environment.
