Description:  A collection of peer-reviewed, full-text articles in HTML and PDF format with coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature, and other subjects; intended primarily for academic researchers. It also contains podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC, as well as full-text New York Times content to 1995.

Description:  A scholarly, multidisciplinary database providing indexing and abstracts for over 10,000 publications, including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, and others. Also includes full-text access to over 5,000 journals. Offers coverage of many areas of academic study including: archaeology, area studies, astronomy, biology, chemistry, civil engineering, electrical engineering, ethnic & multicultural studies, food science & technology, general science, geography, geology, law, mathematics, mechanical engineering, music, physics, psychology, religion & theology, women's studies, and other fields.

Description:  A highly-automated electronic archive and distribution server for research articles. Covered areas include physics, mathematics, computer science, nonlinear sciences, quantitative biology and statistics. arXiv is maintained and operated by the Cornell University Library.

Dissertations & theses
Description:  Includes citations for over 2.7 million dissertations and theses from around the world, ranging from 1861 to those accepted last semester. Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts; master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Where available, PQDT provides twenty-four page previews. More than 1.2 million are available for download in PDF format.

DOE information bridge
Description:  Provides access to over 298,000 full-text documents and bibliographic citations of Department of Energy (DOE) research report literature primarily from 1991 forward produced by DOE, the contractor community, and/or grantees. Contains documents and citations in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics of interest related to DOE's mission.

Energy citations database
Description:  Provides access to over 2.4 million science research citations and documents are made publicly available by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Includes scientific and technical research results in disciplines such as chemistry, physics, materials, environmental science, geology, engineering, mathematics, climatology, oceanography, and computer science. It includes bibliographic citations to report literature, conference papers, journal articles, books, dissertations, and patents.

Description:  A web-based digital video delivery service providing streaming videos from Films Media Group. Includes thousands of documentaries, teaching videos, and other academic materials.

Google scholar
Description:  Online search engine by Google specializing in academic and research information. Uncovers documents from fee-based databases and digitial repositories not found when using Google. Google Scholar also links to full-text content owned by SMU library when searched on campus or from this link.

Description:  Provides access to a comprehensive collection of academic and professional research articles online, nearly 4.5 million articles from 13,500 publications.

IOPscience extra
Description:  Online service and index for journals from the Institute of Physics (IOP). Contains more than 250,000 articles, from 1874 to the present day. Includes links to related articles, references and citations; latest and most popular article listings; and news delivered from IOP's community websites.

NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS)
Description:  Provides access to over 500,000 aerospace-related citations, over 200,000 full-text online documents, and over 500,000 images and videos. The NTRS integrates historical NASA information with more recent research from various research facilities. The types of information found in the NTRS include: conference papers, journal articles, meeting papers, patents, research reports, images, movies, and technical videos.

Description:  The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) serves as the largest central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information available today. For more than 60 years NTIS has assured businesses, universities, and the public timely access to approximately 3 million publications covering over 350 subject areas.

Science & technology collection
Description:  Contains more than 820 leading full-text journals covering relevant aspects of the scientific and technical community. In addition to full text, the collection offers indexing and abstracts for more than 1,750 journals. Topics include aeronautics, astrophysics, biology, chemistry, computer technology, geology, aviation, physics, archaeology, marine sciences and materials science.

Description:  A full-text database offering journal articles and book chapters published by Elsevier, including more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books. There are currently more than 9.5 million articles/chapters, a content base that is growing at a rate of almost 0.5 million additions per year.

Site allows printing and downloading of e-books, and option to purchase print versions at a reduced rate. Description:  Provides access to the Science citation index expanded, Social sciences citation index and Arts & humanities citation index.
