Description:  A collection of peer-reviewed, full-text articles in HTML and PDF format with coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature, and other subjects; intended primarily for academic researchers. It also contains podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC, as well as full-text New York Times content to 1995.

Also includes full-text access to over 5,000 journals. ACM digital library
Description:  The ACM Digital Library includes bibliographic information, abstracts, reviews, and full texts of material published by the Association for Computing Machinery since its inception.

Description:  A highly-automated electronic archive and distribution server for research articles. Covered areas include physics, mathematics, computer science, nonlinear sciences, quantitative biology and statistics. arXiv is maintained and operated by the Cornell University Library.

Description:  Collection of bibliographic and full text content, including ndexing and abstracts for scholarly business journals back to 1886. Also includes searchable cited references for more than 1,200 journals and detailed author profiles for the 20,000 most-cited authors in the database. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, monographs, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, industry reports, market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses and more. Covers all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics.

Computer source
Description:  Provides researchers with the latest information and current trends in high technology. This database offers full text for nearly 300 publications, covering topics such as computer science, programming, artificial intelligence, cybernetics, information systems, robotics, and software. In addition, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 450 publications. Computer Source provides researchers with full text journals. Leading general magazines are also provided. Many full text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full text information in this database dates as far back as 1985.

Dissertations & theses
Description:  Includes citations for over 2.7 million dissertations and theses from around the world, ranging from 1861 to those accepted last semester. Dissertations published from 1980 forward include 350-word abstracts; master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts. Where available, PQDT provides twenty-four page previews. More than 1.2 million are available for download in PDF format.

Description:  A web-based digital video delivery service providing streaming videos from Films Media Group. Includes thousands of documentaries, teaching videos, and other academic materials.

Google scholar
Description:  Online search engine by Google specializing in academic and research information. Uncovers documents from fee-based databases and digitial repositories not found when using Google. Google Scholar also links to full-text content owned by SMU library when searched on campus or from this link.

IEEE Xplore digital library
Description:  Provides access to the full text of IEEE content published since 1988 with select content published since 1893 from IEEE/IET journals, transactions, and magazines, including early access documents, conference proceedings, IEEE published standards and Standards Dictionary Online, and a collection of IEEE/Wiley e-books.

NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS)
Description:  Provides access to over 500,000 aerospace-related citations, over 200,000 full-text online documents, and over 500,000 images and videos. The NTRS integrates historical NASA information with more recent research from various research facilities. The types of information found in the NTRS include: conference papers, journal articles, meeting papers, patents, research reports, images, movies, and technical videos.

NTIS : National Technical Information Service
Description:  The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) serves as the largest central resource for government-funded scientific, technical, engineering, and business related information available today. For more than 60 years NTIS has assured businesses, universities, and the public timely access to approximately 3 million publications covering over 350 subject areas.

Patent full-text databases
Description:  The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) Web Patent Full-Text Databases include the full text of all patents granted since 1976, and the patent number, issue date, and current US classification for all patents granted from 1790 through 1975. Patents from January 1976 to the present offer the full searchable text, including all bibliographic data, such as the inventor's name, the patent's title, and the assignee's name; the abstract; the full description of the invention; and the claims.

Description:  Contains more than 820 leading full-text journals covering relevant aspects of the scientific and technical community. Description:  A full-text database offering journal articles and book chapters published by Elsevier, including more than 2,500 peer-reviewed journals and more than 11,000 books. There are currently more than 9.5 million articles/chapters, a content base that is growing at a rate of almost 0.5 million additions per year.

Site allows printing and downloading of e-books, and option to purchase print versions at a reduced rate.
