How can I copy content from one
 Blackboard course to another?

 

The new integration of Blackboard and Access.SMU creates and populates course shells for all courses and sections being taught during the current term. Academic Computing strongly advises you to move your current course materials into the new course shells.

Below are the steps in Blackboard to copy your materials from one course to another.

Copying Course Materials via the Bb Course Copy Tool:

Copy Course MenuGo to the previous term's course that contains your course materials.

  1. Control Panel
  2. Click to expand the Packages & Utilities.
  3. Click Course Copy.
  4. In the Destination Course ID box, enter the Blackboard course ID of the course that you are copying into.
    Example: THNK1301-10-1082
  5. Check the areas that you want to copy to the new course.

Don't check the Enrollment or all of last term's students will be copied into the new course.
• To copy deployed tests, you must select the appropriate Content Area, Grade Center Items and Settings, as well as Tests, Surveys and Pools
• To copy assignments, you must select the appropriate Content Area, as well as Grade Center Items and Settings.

Click Submit to proceed and wait for the process to complete.

NOTE: The steps above may create duplicate menu items. You can remove the duplicates. To remove any unneeded items click the » pull down menu next to menu item and delete it.

 

 

 

 

You can also copy a single item from one Blackboard course to another.

  1. Go to the site that contains the content you want to copy.
  2. Choose Edit Mode in the content area (e.g. Course Documents) that contains the item.
  3. Click the » pull down menu.
  4. Choose Copy option.
  5. Pick the course and folder you want to copy the item to and click Submit.
