Carol Clyde

Dr. Carol Clyde joined Southern Methodist University as the Director of Leadership and Community Involvement in 2003. Carol brings with her an excellent educational background and applicable work experience. She was previously the Director of Internships and an Assistant Professor at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Carol also served as an instructor for their First Year Experience course for freshmen students. Prior to joining Lynn University, Carol was employed as the Director of the Weppner Volunteer Center at Florida Atlantic University and the AmeriCorps*VCCC Community Service Coordinator at Virginia Wesleyan College. She has a Master of Education degree in Educational Policy Planning and Leadership from The College of William and Mary and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Her dissertation topic was Influences of an Experiential Learning Program for Holocaust Education. Carol is a Facilitator for the Key Leader program with Kiwanis International and teaches a variety of leadership courses for undergraduate students.

Stephanie Howeth

Stephanie assumed the role of Assistant Director in August
2011. She earned her M.Ed. in College Student Affairs
Administration from the University of Georgia in 2008 where she worked in the
Department of University Housing and the Center for Leadership and Service.
Prior to joining SMU in July 2010 as the Coordinator of Community Community
Engagement & Leadership and the Service House Hall Director, Stephanie was the Student Activities
Coordinator at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SOSU), where she worked in the
areas of Student Organizations and Activities, New Student Orientation, and
Greek Life. She earned her B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Advertising
and Public Relations at SOSU in 2005. Stephanie is an avid reader and coffee
drinker, loves traveling and photography, and good Mexican food.

Katie began working at SMU in September 2011 as the Service House Residential Community Director and Community Engagement & Leadership Coordinator. Before graduating in May 2011 with her M.S. in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in California, Katie worked with Student Activities, Residence Life, and Community Service at APU, and had the opportunity to lead a service trip to Vietnam. Originally from Pennsylvania, Katie enjoys coffee dates with friends and traveling.
