3373. Negotiations. Theories and processes of negotiation as it is practiced in a variety of settings are studied. The course focuses on understanding the strategy or conflict resolution in the context of competitive situations. Emphasis is placed on simulations, role playing and cases. Prerequisite: MNO 3370.
5370. Strategic Management. The process of policy making and strategic planning is analyzed, always attending to the overall organization perspective while examining the objectives and interests of the subunits. Prerequisites: ACCT 2311 & 2312, ITOM 2305 (STAT 2305/2331), FINA 3320, LT 3335, MKTG 3340, MNO 3370.
5371. Advanced Strategic Management. The purpose of this course is to extend the theories and concepts introduced in STRA 5370. Student is expected to broaden understanding of strategic problems as found in modern corporations. Prerequisite: STRA 5370.
5372. Mergers and Acquisitions. This course focuses on the role of the general management of a firm who is responsible for undertaking successful mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Primarily case-based, discussion, using Harvard-style cases. Corequisite: STRA 5370.
5373. Practicum in Business Strategy. Course is case-oriented as an honors seminar and will focus on identified strategies for a long term business plan. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
5378/79. Independent Studies In Strategy. Research in this area will consider contemporary strategic issues currently of interest in strategy. Prerequisite: STRA 5370 and permission of full-time faculty.
