The Department of Applied Physiology and Wellness offers the Choices for Living courses that are part of the undergraduate General Education curriculum; in addition, the department proposes to offer a Bachelor’s degree in applied physiology and sports management that will begin in fall 2009.
The department’s offerings are grounded in the belief that a well-rounded education should address one’s physical and mental well-being and growth. Through department courses, students learn techniques to remedy lifestyle imbalances, learn why physical activity and fitness are important throughout life and explore the effects of personal relationships on wellness. The list of department courses offered per term can be accessed at smu.edu/registrar.
