Visionary Philanthropy

Through the years, engineering education has had many supporters. Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison helped secure funding for the Institute for Engineering Education at SMU through an initial federal grant. And more than ten years ago, Texas Instruments partnered with SMU Engineering to create the award-winning Infinity Project, one of several initiatives designed to help American students become more competitive in science, math and technology. Today, the Caruth Foundation of Communities Foundation of Texas has accepted the challenge of expanding these programs to more students from kindergarten through graduate school.
