SMU Engineering Camp for Girls

The SMU Engineering Camp for Girls provides opportunities for a diverse group of middle and high school female students to explore engineering. The camps bring together students who share a common interest in math, science, engineering and technology for a week-long experience that introduces them to engineering through hands-on projects, engineering lab tours and interactions with working engineers. To date, over 350 students from over 75 schools have participated in the camps.

High Heels-High Tech

High Heels-High Tech is a workshop for middle and high school guidance counselors aimed at educating them on opportunities in and preparation for careers in engineering, with a focus on women. The workshop is offered through collaboration between the Caruth Institute for Engineering Education, SMU School of Engineering, and Texas Instruments. To date, educators from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area have participated. In the fall of 2008, the workshop will be held for all Plano ISD guidance counselors serving grades K-12.

She Networks She Wins
