Publicity and Presentations

Information Sessions/Presentations are a way to meet informally with students to provide information about the organization, as well as the career opportunities offered. Many organizations like to schedule information sessions a few weeks in advance or the night before scheduled interviews. The Career Center can provide information about available dates, audio-visual equipment, and room reservations. Information sessions can be scheduled during the following time periods:

Fall Recruiting: the day after Labor Day through the 2nd week of November

Spring Recruiting: the day after MLK through Good Friday.

If you'd like to come to campus outside of the time frames mentioned above, please reserve space in Hughes-Trigg Student Center.

At any time throughout the process, companies are encouraged to email students whose resumes have been received. You can do it through MustangTRAK. It is a great way to let the students learn more about your company, for you to create a presence on campus, and to generate interest in your company with that personal touch.

Company Literature

We encourage our students to research companies on the web and on company websites. We also encourage companies to email students whose resumes have been received. The SMU Career Center discourages company literature at this time for lack of space and staff to maintain it.

Daily Campus

We suggest that you place an ad in the Daily Campus to publicize your visit. For more information, please contact Diana Denton at (214) 768-4111.

Career & Internship Fair

Participation in our annual fall and spring career & internship fair is an excellent opportunity for campus wide exposure.

Student Organizations

If you would like further exposure, view a list of student organizations and contact them to promote your campus visit. Note: most student organizations meet one to two times monthly.
