Position Descriptions
This is an entry level position with two primary functions; 1. To gain knowledge of the logistics industry though extensive classroom and hands-on training with the goal of entering either the Carrier Sales Department or Customer Sales Department in a revenue generating capacity. 2. To support the sales and procurement functions by performing operational, administrative and sales related tasks with the goal of enhancing the customer experience and maximizing the productivity of the existing sales force.

Essential Job Functions
Initial Classroom Training:
During the initial classroom training period, the Logistics Sales Trainee will be expected to be fully engaged and focused on learning. Through the direction of the Corporate Trainer(s), you will be responsible for ensuring your comprehension of training content through participation in classroom activities and individual work study.
• Participate in content learning activities such as small group sessions, role plays, etc...
• Ask questions when further explanation is needed or for extra help.
• Complete additional work as assigned or recommended by the Trainer (s).
• Proactively seek out additional learning opportunities via industry publications and networking.
• Maintain a highly professional demeanor.
• Help and support other members of the training class.

Department Rotation:
Trainees will rotate through various departments under the direction of Department Managers. During your time in the respective departments, you will receive hands on training while performing essential duties that will help create efficiencies in the sales process. You will be evaluated on your performance by each Department Manager.
• Accurately and expeditiously perform duties assigned by Manager
• Take a pro-active approach in learning the importance of each task and how it affects the entire sales/procurement process. Ask questions as needed and network with members of the team.
• Self-evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses and make appropriate changes to extra-curricular study. Use self-evaluation to help determine interest in either the Carrier or Customer Sales department.
• Help and support both other trainees and existing department employees.
• Add value to the department by maintaining a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Carrier/Customer Sales Apprenticeship:
Based on business needs, individual skill set and trainee interest, Logistics Sales Trainees will be assigned to either the Customer Sales or Carrier Sales departments. Each Trainee will work under the direction of an experienced Sales Rep. Trainees will receive hands on experience while assisting their assigned rep in managing and growing their book of business. The goal during this phase is to prepare the trainee to become a fully commissioned rep with their own account base through hands on activities.
• Perform all tasks assigned by Sales Rep to support their existing accounts.
• Begin to establish relationships with either carriers or customers.
• Manage operational activities of loads to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Help drive new account growth via prospecting, sourcing and account penetration.
• Create efficiencies for Sales Rep through process improvement.

Requirements:
• 1-3 years of inside, business to business sales experience OR new grads with sales internship experience.
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management and clients.
• Aggressive and competitive nature.
• Self-managed and motivated.
• Enjoys and thrives in fast paced, fluid work environment.
• Very organized and detail oriented.
• Great phone skills.
• BA/BS Degree with a high GPA
