In this livre d’artiste, the American artist Ben Shahn (1898–1969) provided seven colored lithograph illustrations for the Book of Ecclesiastes. One of twenty-six special copies that includes two original lithographs signed by the artist with an extra set of the illustrations printed on pure rag paper, this copy also includes a series of thirty proofs showing the progressive states of the plate illustrating the sixth chapter.
