Pasted inside front cover of this black letter quarto edition is a manuscript note by Bible collector and bibliographer Francis Fry: "1614–1615 Quarto, Authorized Version. This is a fine clean copy. Perfect. Probably original binding. This is a rare edition. The first edition was 1611, the first quarto in 1612. Therefore this is an early edition. Francis Fry, Cotham 1 No 1882." The copy is inscribed: "Juliet C. Barclay from her loving grandfather Francis Fry. Tower House, 1st M-1882."
