The year 2006 marked the tenth anniversary of the gift by Elizabeth Perkins Prothro of her magnificent collection of Bibles and related works to Bridwell Library. The exhibition included approximately sixty volumes, including a thirteenth-century manuscript Parisian Latin Bible, an early fifteenth-century Wycliffite English manuscript New Testament, a vellum leaf from the Gutenberg Bible (c. 1455), and a Coverdale Bible (1535). The fully illustrated catalogue includes a detailed historical account of the exhibited Bibles and a handlist of more than 400 Bibles and related works in the Prothro collection.
